Pakistan has once again reiterated its strong condemnation of Israel’s escalatory and dangerous statements regarding Palestinian land. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, speaking at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Jeddah, declared that Israel’s aggressive rhetoric and actions reflect its annexationist mindset and disregard for international law.
In his remarks, Dar emphasized that Pakistan stands firmly with the Palestinian people and Arab states in their struggle against occupation, illegal settlements, and the denial of basic human rights. The focus keyword Pakistan strongly condemns Israel was repeated throughout his address, highlighting Islamabad’s unwavering stance on the issue.
Israel’s Escalatory Actions and Dangerous Rhetoric
Dar condemned Israel’s plan to extend full military control over Gaza and the Israeli prime minister’s remarks on creating a “Greater Israel.” He described these as clear attempts to entrench illegal occupation by force. According to Dar, such provocative statements directly threaten Arab national security, undermine peace efforts, and challenge the sovereignty of states in the region.
He said that Pakistan strongly condemns Israel for its systematic violations of international humanitarian law, UN resolutions, and even the judgment of the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Dar noted that Gaza has turned into a graveyard for innocent lives and international law, with over 60,000 Palestinians—mostly women and children—killed in brutal assaults.
Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels. For nearly two years, the enclave has faced indiscriminate bombardment, a total blockade, and deliberate deprivation of food and aid. Dar said that famine is rampant, civilians are being shot while collecting food, and hospitals, schools, refugee camps, and UN facilities are being targeted in what he described as wanton acts of collective punishment.
Pakistan has been actively sending humanitarian assistance to Gaza and has called for the immediate flow of aid to civilians. Dar added that Pakistan strongly condemns Israel for using the humanitarian system as a façade while deliberately worsening conditions for the Palestinian population.
Collective Condemnation by Arab and Islamic States
Pakistan joined 31 Arab-Islamic countries, along with the OIC, Arab League, and Gulf Cooperation Council, in denouncing Israel’s statements about “Greater Israel.” These were described as a direct threat to Arab national security and to global peace.
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for Arab states, affirming that Pakistan will always stand by its brotherly nations in safeguarding sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He stressed that as long as the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories continues, peace in the Middle East will remain elusive.
Seven Urgent Steps Proposed by Pakistan
Dar presented a seven-point plan for addressing the crisis and ensuring justice for Palestine:
- Immediate ceasefire across Gaza and occupied territories, with full implementation of UNSC Resolution 2735.
- Unhindered humanitarian access to civilians and protection for aid workers, medical teams, and UN personnel.
- Strengthened support for UNRWA, which remains vital for Palestinian survival.
- End to forced displacement, illegal settlements, and annexation of Palestinian land.
- Implementation of Arab and OIC-led reconstruction plans for Gaza, enabling recovery and dignity.
- Revival of a genuine political process for a two-state solution, based on pre-1967 borders with Al Quds Al-Sharif as Palestine’s capital.
- Accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity, ensuring Israel does not act with impunity.
He added that desecration of Al Aqsa Mosque would be an intolerable provocation and that the OIC must remain united in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Pakistan’s Commitment to Palestine
Dar reaffirmed that Palestine is a priority for Pakistan. As a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, Pakistan will continue to work with Arab and Islamic partners to mobilize global support for Palestinian self-determination. He called on the UN to impose costs on Israel if it continues to defy international norms, even suggesting the deployment of an international protection force for Gaza.
A Defining Moment for the Muslim Ummah
Dar stressed that history will not judge the Muslim world by words but by actions. The Palestinian people, he said, do not need statements of sympathy but concrete measures for liberation from occupation. The OIC, he urged, must rise with unity and determination to prevent another Nakba.
The deputy prime minister concluded by emphasizing that Pakistan strongly condemns Israel not only for its actions in Gaza but also for its complete disregard for international law. He called for urgent and credible action to end the occupation and bring peace and justice to the Palestinian people.
