Veteran actress loni anderson passes away at 79

Loni Anderson, the beloved actress best known for her role as Jennifer Marlowe on the CBS sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati, has died at the age of 79.

According to her death certificate, obtained by international media, Anderson passed away from metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer of the uterus. The National Organisation for Rare Disorders notes that the disease often spreads to vital organs such as the lungs and liver, leading to life-threatening complications.

Her longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, confirmed the news on August 5, stating that Anderson had endured a prolonged illness.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother,” her family said in a statement.

She was cremated and laid to rest in Hollywood on August 7.

Anderson’s celebrated career earned her two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations, with her portrayal of Marlowe cementing her as an icon of late 1970s television.

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Bob Flick, daughter Deidra and son-in-law Charlie Hoffman, son Quinton Anderson Reynolds, grandchildren McKenzie and Megan Hoffman, stepson Adam Flick and his wife Helene, and step-grandchildren Felix and Maximilian.
