Fawad Khan, Vaani Kapoor’s ‘Aabeer Gulaal’ set for september 12 release across 75 countries

After a delay from its original May release—caused by political tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack—the much-anticipated rom-com ‘Aabeer Gulaal’ (formerly titled Abir Gulaal) is now slated to hit theatres worldwide on September 12, the makers have confirmed.

Director Aarti S. Bagdi took to Instagram on Friday to announce that the film will be screened in over 1,000 theatres across 75 countries, though notably it will not release in India.

“We asked you to make space for love—and you did,” Bagdi wrote. “The response has been overwhelming! Your love has created more demand than we could have imagined. And so, we’re opening our arms wider. Join us as we celebrate a story that celebrates love—because when love grows, so must its stage.”

Starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles, the film promises a fiery yet feel-good romantic comedy experience. The ensemble cast also includes Riddhi Dogra, Lisa Haydon, Farida Jalal, Soni Razdan, and Parmeet Sethi.

Co-written and directed by Bagdi, Aabeer Gulaal has already generated significant buzz among fans of cross-border cinema, marking one of the biggest international South Asian releases this year.
