South Africa’s prenelan subrayen reported for suspect bowling action after ODI debut.

South African off-spinner Prenelan Subrayen has been reported for a suspect bowling action following his debut in the team’s 98-run win over Australia in the first ODI in Cairns.

The 31-year-old, playing his maiden 50-over international on Tuesday, returned figures of 1-46 and claimed the crucial wicket of Travis Head. However, match officials expressed concerns over the legality of his action in their report, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed on Thursday.

“The bowler will undergo an independent assessment of his bowling action at an ICC-accredited testing facility,” the ICC said in a statement.

The development comes as another blow for South Africa, who are already missing their pace spearhead Kagiso Rabada due to injury.

The second ODI of the three-match series is scheduled for Friday in Mackay.
