Key federal appointments and transfers announced across departments.

The federal government has announced several significant appointments and transfers in top positions across various departments.

Major General Umar Farid has been named the new Additional Secretary in the Defence Division, replacing Major General Amir Ashfaq Kayani, who has returned to the Pakistan Army.

In another move, Saira Imdad Ali (Grade 20) has been transferred from the Commerce Division to the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) in Lahore.

With the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Akbar Ali Rabbani has been appointed as Senior Manager (Procurement) for the Digital Economy Enhancement Project on a two-year contractual basis.

Separately, the earlier decision to appoint Shehzad Nawaz Cheema, Joint Secretary of the Poverty Alleviation Division, as Director General of the Privatisation Commission has been withdrawn.

Furthermore, Assistant Professor Maimoona Shehzadi has been moved from the Higher Education Department of Azad Kashmir to the Federal Directorate of Education.
