The residence of controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt came under attack late Thursday night in Lahore’s Chung area, police confirmed.
According to officials, two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle opened fire at the house before fleeing the scene. A police spokesperson stated that multiple gunshots were fired, but fortunately, no one was injured as the house was unoccupied at the time.
Authorities have launched an investigation and are analyzing CCTV footage from surrounding buildings and street cameras to identify the suspects.
“We are reviewing all angles and determined to bring the culprits to justice,” a senior police officer told the media. “Surveillance footage has already been secured.”
Rajab Butt has frequently drawn public criticism for his controversial actions and statements. Earlier this year, he was booked under PECA and blasphemy laws in connection with the launch of his ‘295’ perfume. Following backlash and threats, he had publicly apologized and left the country for a period of time.
