Senate session today with 12-point genda; key reports and ordinances to be presented.

The Senate will convene today (Tuesday) at 4:00 PM in the Parliament House, with a 12-point agenda scheduled for discussion, according to Dunya News.

Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, will present three committee reports:

  • The Extradition (Amendment) Bill, 2025, to amend the Extradition Act, 1972
  • The Pakistan Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2025
  • The Criminal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2025, covering proposed changes to the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898

He will also present a report on a public concern raised by Senator Fawzia Arshad regarding water shortages in Islamabad’s Sector G-6/4, discussed in the Senate on May 23, 2025.

Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Federal Education and Professional Training, will present the committee’s report on amendments to the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Act, 1975.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is expected to lay the Capital Development Authority (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, before the House.

Additionally, Senator Abdul Shakoor Khan will highlight the rising polio cases—particularly in Balochistan—via a calling attention notice to the Health Minister, while Senator Mohsin Aziz will raise concerns over the shutdown of major manufacturing industries and resulting unemployment.

The session will also include a formal vote of thanks to the President of Pakistan for his address to the joint session of Parliament on March 10, 2025.
