Registration for Hajj 2026 begins with no fee, mandatory for all intending pilgrims

Islamabad – The Ministry of Religious Affairs has officially opened the registration process for Hajj 2026. According to a ministry spokesperson, the registration will be free of cost, but only those who complete the process will be considered eligible to perform Hajj next year.

The ministry clarified that this early registration has been initiated on the instructions of the Saudi government to facilitate advance planning for Hajj quotas, travel logistics, and other arrangements. Data collected through this registration will be shared with Saudi authorities to determine Pakistan’s Hajj quota.

Registration is mandatory for both government and private Hajj schemes, and the requirement also applies to Pakistanis living abroad. The process will remain open until July 9, 2025, and can be completed at 15 approved banks nationwide.

The spokesperson added that after registration, pilgrims will have the option to choose either the government or private Hajj scheme. Even those who do not initially secure a place under the private scheme must still be registered to be considered for future adjustments.

Details about expenses and terms of the Hajj 2026 pilgrimage will be released separately under the upcoming Hajj Policy.
