Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zerdari, has stated that our allies are running away from the fear of our elections. In politics, “he who is afraid, perishes.” Running away in fear is not the upbringing of the Pakistan Peoples Party. We will confront the selected leadership of the PTI with the power of the people. If MQM is scared of participating in local elections, what difference does it make? We have faced challenges in the past; we ran away from elections then, and we are not running away today. The situation is such that it seems there is garbage only in Sindh, while the rest of the country is clean. The elites and certain groups benefit their capitalist friends when they are in power. After retirement, judges, bureaucrats, and military officers can get plots, so why not the common man? We want to provide relief to flood-affected people through a plan. These views were expressed by him while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the filter plant in Hyderabad.
He further said that we need to confront politics; “I kept telling MQM to join hands with the Pakistan Peoples Party in local elections, but they did not heed.” Bilawal Bhutto said that when MQM was in power, it made a mess of everything, and it’s as if garbage only exists in Sindh. He said that his promise is to give property rights to the occupants of the 12 katchi abadis in Hyderabad. He further said that we will contest the upcoming elections based on performance and governance.
He also mentioned the issue of garbage in Karachi and said, “As much drama has been done, it seems there is garbage only in Sindh, while the rest of the country is clean.” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the inequality in society and how certain groups benefit their capitalist friends when they are in power. He also advocated for providing plots to common citizens, just like judges, bureaucrats, and military officers receive after retirement.
Bilawal Bhutto Zerdari emphasized the need for political engagement and expressed his determination to contest elections based on performance and governance, focusing on addressing the challenges facing the people. He also underscored the importance of delivering relief to flood-affected communities through a well-thought-out plan.
