Is global pop sensation Ed Sheeran making his Bollywood debut? That’s the burning question after the singer hinted at a Hindi song tied to Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated upcoming film.
Speculation surged following behind-the-scenes footage from Sheeran’s new single Sapphire, which not only features Indian playback star Arijit Singh but also includes a surprise appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. The excitement was further fueled by Sheeran’s unexpected comment on Instagram.
After a fan page posted the clip with the caption, “Can’t wait for the full Punjabi version,” and noted Sheeran’s mention of a “Hindi version,” the singer responded directly:
“The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of Sapphire with Arijit. I’m just doing all languages at this point.”
That single comment set off a wave of fan speculation: What Hindi song? Is Ed featured on a track in SRK’s next film? Could this be related to King?
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is one of Bollywood’s most highly awaited films of 2025, rumored to be a high-octane action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and a possible appearance by Suhana Khan.
Adding to the buzz, eagle-eyed fans spotted Siddharth Anand in the Sapphire BTS footage, seen in a recording studio with Sheeran—a detail that’s only intensified rumors of a major Bollywood crossover.
While there’s been no official confirmation from Sheeran, SRK, or the King production team, the signs point to a potentially groundbreaking collaboration. If confirmed, this would mark Ed Sheeran’s debut in Bollywood and his first Hindi-language track.
