Bollywood icon and politician Kangana Ranaut has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador for the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, set to be held in New Delhi from September 27 to October 5.
The announcement was made by the Paralympic Committee of India and confirmed on Ranaut’s official X account. Expressing her pride, Ranaut stated, “It’s a true privilege to support our para-athletes and honour their unbreakable spirit.”
This 12th edition of the championships will be India’s largest para-sport event to date, featuring 186 medal events—101 for men, 84 for women, and one mixed event—surpassing the previous edition in Kobe, Japan, by 15 events.
Having transitioned into politics in 2024 following a successful film career with acclaimed movies like Queen and Tanu Weds Manu, Ranaut will advocate for the championship’s mission to highlight the strength and resilience of para-athletes.
The event, organized by World Para Athletics under the International Paralympic Committee, marks the fourth time it will be hosted in Asia, following previous editions in Doha (2015), Dubai (2019), and Kobe (2024).
