Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan strongly condemned Israel’s use of force against Iran and called for an immediate halt to the ongoing conflict during a phone conversation on Monday, according to a Kremlin statement.
Both leaders voiced deep concern over the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, warning that the violence has already caused significant casualties and poses long-term risks for regional stability.
They emphasized the urgent need to resolve disputes—particularly those involving Iran’s nuclear programme—through political and diplomatic channels, rather than military action.
The Kremlin also stated that Russia remains willing to mediate between the two sides and reiterated its earlier proposal to store Iranian uranium in Russia as a trust-building measure.
While Tehran maintains its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes, its accelerated uranium enrichment has alarmed Western nations and Gulf states, who fear the possible development of nuclear weapons.
