ATC criticizes Imran Khan refusal to undergo polygraph, photogrammetric tests.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore has released a three-page written verdict criticizing former prime minister Imran Khan for repeatedly refusing to undergo polygraph and photogrammetric tests, hindering progress in the ongoing investigation.

The court noted that Khan was given full and fair opportunities to cooperate and prove his innocence, yet failed to do so. Unlike most accused individuals, the court said, Khan was offered flexibility in the process—yet he not only declined the tests but also avoided meeting the investigation team altogether.

The verdict expressed concern over how a proper investigation can be conducted when the accused remains uncooperative. The court emphasized that the repeated refusals appear to be deliberate attempts to delay or avoid trial proceedings. Despite being given two opportunities to comply, the PTI founder declined both. The court stated it would not offer a third chance, citing a lack of any reasonable hope for progress.

Judge Manzar Ali Gill acknowledged that the defense was correct in arguing that suspects cannot be forcibly subjected to such tests. However, he underlined that Imran Khan’s continued refusal was actively obstructing the investigative process.

As a result, the court has instructed the investigating officers to proceed using alternative technical means to complete the investigation.
