Thunderstorms and rainfall are expected in several regions across Pakistan today, according to an advisory issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The forecast includes rain accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Similar weather conditions are also likely in Lahore, Narowal, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mianwali, and Sialkot.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, areas such as Mardan, Peshawar, Swabi, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mansehra, and Abbottabad are expected to experience thunderstorms and rainfall as well.
In contrast, most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are likely to remain hot and dry throughout the day.
The NDMA highlighted the severity of the current heatwave in some regions, noting that Sibi recorded the country’s highest temperature yesterday, soaring to 51°C.
