Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has asserted that Pakistan has dismantled the long-held global narrative portraying India as “South Asia’s Israel.”
Speaking to reporters outside Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Chaudhry claimed that the Pakistan Air Force had swiftly retaliated to Indian aggression by downing five Indian fighter jets and destroying 20 airbases in a matter of hours.
“Nuclear war is not even the issue — Pakistan has already outperformed India in conventional warfare,” he said. “We took the necessary steps, and the entire nation stands proud of our armed forces, especially the Pakistan Air Force.”
He emphasized that the perception of India’s regional military dominance has been overturned. “It was once believed that India is the Israel of South Asia, but Pakistan has shattered that myth,” he added.
Chaudhry went on to say that Pakistan now plays a decisive role in shaping South Asia’s power dynamics and lauded the armed forces for their courage and commitment in defending the nation’s honor.
Separately, the ATC in Lahore extended the interim bail of Fawad Chaudhry and others until June 16 in connection with the May 9 cases. Chaudhry, along with Ali Imtiaz, Karamat Khokhar, and others, appeared in court to mark their attendance.
