Security forces in Lahore successfully shot down an Indian drone in the Walton area, as tensions continue to escalate between the two neighbouring nations. The drone was neutralized immediately upon detection, and no damage was reported.
In a separate incident, another drone was destroyed in Diwalian, Chakwal. Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or damages in that operation either.
Just a day earlier, the Pakistan Army intercepted and shot down seven Indian drones attempting infiltration. According to security sources, the drones were taken down in the Sialkot sector, with two others seized through advanced electronic warfare (EW) techniques.
Among the drones destroyed were three, including an armoured Heron drone, brought down in Barnala, Shakargarh, and Kotli sectors.
Previously, Pakistan had downed five Indian fighter jets and another drone during a midnight assault launched by India at six locations. The attack resulted in the deaths of 31 civilians and left 57 injured.
Addressing a press conference, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmad Sharif, condemned India’s continued ceasefire violations and unprovoked attacks along the Line of Control (LoC), which have led to increased civilian casualties.
He harshly criticized India’s actions, stating, “Any condemnation of India’s strikes is not enough. The attacks on May 6 and 7 reveal the cowardly face of the enemy, which targets innocent civilians under the cover of darkness rather than confronting military forces directly.
