Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul on Thursday to discuss the rising tensions in South Asia.
During the call, Dar briefed FM Cho on the deteriorating regional situation triggered by India’s unilateral actions and what he described as baseless propaganda, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty — a move Pakistan views as a violation of international law.
FM Cho expressed concern over the escalating tensions and emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy to ensure regional peace and stability.
As non-permanent members of the UN Security Council, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to multilateral cooperation. FM Cho also praised the successful co-hosting of the Third United Nations Peacekeeping Ministerial Preparatory Meeting, held in Islamabad last month.
The two foreign ministers agreed to enhance bilateral ties further through high-level engagements and continued collaboration.
