Muqaddas, a 20-year-old resident of Ranipur in Khairpur district, tragically passed away after donating part of her liver to her ailing father. She underwent the transplant procedure at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) but did not survive.
Her family has accused the doctors of negligence, alleging that despite her worsening condition, medical staff assured them of her recovery. However, they were later informed at 2 AM to collect her body.
The grieving family laid Muqaddas to rest in Shujaabad, while her father, already in poor health, suffered further complications upon hearing the devastating news.
GIMS Hospital Director, Dr. Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti, stated that he was unaware of the incident but promised an investigation. He added that complications arise in approximately one out of 200 transplant cases.
