Meta reportedly exploring $200 billion AI data center campus.

Meta Platforms (META.O) is reportedly in talks to develop a massive data center campus dedicated to artificial intelligence projects, with potential costs exceeding $200 billion, according to The Information. The company is said to be considering locations in Louisiana, Wyoming, or Texas, with executives recently visiting potential sites.

However, a Meta spokesperson dismissed the report, stating that the company’s data center plans and capital expenditures have already been disclosed and that anything beyond that is “pure speculation.”

The AI boom, fueled by the success of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, has driven major tech firms to ramp up investment in AI infrastructure. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced plans to spend up to $65 billion this year on AI expansion. In comparison, Microsoft intends to invest around $80 billion in fiscal 2025, while Amazon projects its 2025 spending to surpass its $75 billion estimate for 2024.
