Veteran Pakistani actor Behroze Sabzwari has sparked controversy with his remarks on marriage, urging women and their families to take greater responsibility in handling marital relationships.
Speaking on a morning show, Sabzwari credited his wife for his success, stating that marriage brought a positive change in his life. He emphasized that women make more sacrifices to maintain a marriage and play a crucial role in creating a healthy balance in relationships.
However, he lamented that modern women seem to lack the same level of patience and tolerance, adding, “They want to respond to everything, which creates an unhealthy atmosphere in a family.” He also criticized parents for advising their daughters not to compromise in marriage, saying, “People spend millions on weddings, yet marriages only last a few months.”
Following his comments, netizens criticized Sabzwari for seemingly placing all the blame on women while ignoring men’s role in marital struggles and rising divorce rates in Pakistan.
