Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan and the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan have announced a three-day mourning period from February 5 to 7 in honor of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan. During these days, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on all government buildings throughout the region.
Additionally, February 6 has been declared a public holiday to commemorate the late Prince. The Chief Minister has also directed that all official events be held in a simple and solemn manner.
In his condolence message, Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan paid heartfelt tribute to the remarkable contributions of Prince Karim Aga Khan, highlighting his global impact in health, education, humanitarian work, and the preservation of cultural heritage in Gilgit-Baltistan. He stressed that the void left by his passing is irreplaceable and extended deep condolences to his family, followers, and admirers worldwide. The Chief Minister further prayed for the elevation of His Highness’s status in the hereafter, reaffirming the region’s solidarity with all who mourn this great loss.
