Terrorist attack in karak: three police martyrs, six injured.

Early Thursday, terrorists armed with heavy weapons attacked the Bahadur Khel check post in Karak, resulting in the martyrdom of three policemen and injuries to six others. According to the Karak District Police Officer, the militants aimed to capture the check post but were forced to retreat when police returned fire.

A large police contingent swiftly arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and initiated a search operation to apprehend the attackers. The injured were immediately taken to the District Headquarters Hospital, with two of the more critically injured later referred to Peshawar for specialized care.

The funeral prayer for the fallen officers was held at Karak Police Lines at 10 a.m., after which their bodies were sent to their native villages for burial. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed later informed the media that the police engaged the terrorists in a two-hour battle, eventually compelling them to flee.

This attack follows closely on the heels of another incident in which a policeman was killed by extremists during an anti-polio campaign in the Khyber district.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack on the Bahadur Khel check post, paying tribute to the martyred police personnel. He extended his condolences to the families of the fallen and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
