Pakistani spinner Usman Qadir has relocated to Australia in pursuit of greater opportunities in cricket. Settling in New South Wales, Qadir is currently playing for Hawkesbury Club in Sydney.
The cricketer, who retired from Pakistan’s national team in October last year due to feeling neglected, had initially left Australia to fulfill his late father Abdul Qadir’s dream of seeing him play for Pakistan. Over the course of his career, Usman represented Pakistan in 1 ODI and 25 T20 Internationals, also playing for teams such as South Australia, Perth Scorchers, and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. Additionally, he had the privilege of representing the Australia Prime Minister’s XI.
Now, with a renewed focus on his cricket career, Qadir has returned to Australia and plans to make the most of the opportunities available. His family is expected to join him soon.
Reflecting on his move, Qadir shared, “Cricket is my livelihood. I’ve come to Australia with future plans in mind and am hopeful and determined to find great opportunities in the game.”
