The price of 24-karat gold per tola fell by Rs800, reaching Rs277,000 on Monday, down from Rs277,800 on the previous trading day, according to the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association. Similarly, 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs687 to Rs237,482, compared to the previous rate of Rs238,169. The price of 22-karat gold per 10 grams also declined to Rs217,693 from Rs218,321.
Silver prices remained stable, with per tola silver holding steady at Rs3,400 and 10 grams at Rs2,914.95.
In the international market, the price of gold dropped by $8, falling to $2,658 from $2,666.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee continued to weaken slightly, depreciating by six paisa in interbank trading, closing at Rs278.17 against the previous rate of Rs278.11.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market stood at Rs277.70 and Rs279.20, respectively.
Other currency movements included:
- Euro: Increased by Rs1.22 to Rs292.28 (previously Rs291.06).
- British Pound: Rose by 20 paisa to Rs351.44 (previously Rs351.24).
- Japanese Yen: Unchanged at Rs1.81.
- Emirates Dirham: Increased by two paisa to Rs75.73.
- Saudi Riyal: Increased by one paisa to Rs74.02.
These shifts reflect ongoing volatility in both precious metals and currency markets amid broader economic conditions.
