The School Education Department has announced plans to gradually phase out older teachers and has directed District Education Authorities to compile data on those interested in voluntary retirement.
The department is particularly focusing on teachers aged 50 and 55, as well as those who have completed 25 years of service. The requested data includes details such as the teachers’ date of birth, posting information, designation, and educational qualifications.
This information has been urgently requested from all schools. Presently, the department employs approximately 12,000 teachers with matriculation qualifications and over 8,000 teachers holding FA qualifications.
