JP duminy resigns as South Africa hite-ball batting coach.

Former international cricketer JP Duminy has stepped down from his role as South Africa’s white-ball batting coach due to personal reasons. Duminy, who joined the coaching staff in March 2023 under head coach Rob Walter, played a key role during South Africa’s 2023 ODI World Cup semi-final campaign. However, he had to exit the camp before the 2024 T20 World Cup in June for similar personal reasons.

Previously, Duminy served as head coach for the SA20 team Paarl Royals and the domestic side Boland. His immediate coaching plans remain uncertain, though he was appointed head coach of the Sharjah Warriorz for the International League T20 (ILT20) in September 2023.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) is now seeking a replacement, though a new appointment may not be finalized in time for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against Pakistan starting next week. If necessary, CSA may rely on current batting lead Imraan Khan, who recently supported the Test squad in Bangladesh.

Duminy’s departure creates a temporary void as South Africa prepares for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, making the upcoming Pakistan series a key phase for team preparations.
