Pakistan’s exports to the US surge by 9.39% in first four months of FY 2024-25

Pakistan’s exports to the United States (US) saw a notable increase of 9.39% during the first four months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, as compared to the same period last year, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data.

Exports from Pakistan to the US totaled $2.037 billion between July and October 2024, up from $1.862 billion during the same months in 2023. On a monthly basis, October 2024 exports reached $575.889 million, a rise from $485.786 million in October 2023. The increase was also reflected in the month-on-month comparison, with exports rising by 12.58% in October 2024 compared to $511.525 million in September 2024.

In addition to the growth in exports to the US, Pakistan’s overall exports to other countries rose by 8.64% in the first four months of the current fiscal year, reaching $10.507 billion, compared to $9.671 billion in the same period last year.

However, imports from the US during July-October 2024 showed a 24.44% increase, amounting to $739.163 million, up from $589.239 million last year. On a month-on-month basis, imports in October 2024 saw a slight decrease of 4.08%, with imports totaling $180.407 million compared to $188.095 million in September 2024.

Overall, Pakistan’s total imports rose by 12.96%, reaching $18.832 billion in the first four months, compared to $16.671 billion last year.
