After a brief uptick, gold prices in Pakistan saw a decline on Thursday, mirroring trends in the global market.
According to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold per tola dropped by Rs700, settling at Rs275,200. In parallel, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs600, bringing it to Rs235,940.
Speaking to the media in Karachi alongside the Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Ali stated that a new tariff would be introduced in October for industries across the country, with a focus on providing more gas to industries.
The father of the deceased woman revealed that his daughter had been married to Bilal for a year and a half, and they had a few months old daughter together. He further disclosed that Bilal had been subjecting their daughter to violence, prompting her to leave her marital home and return to her parents’ house on multiple occasions.
The upcoming months are expected to witness a reduction in inflation, providing some relief to the public. The Finance Minister, Dr. Shaukat Tarin, highlighted the necessity for Pakistan to remain in the IMF program to sustain ongoing economic reforms. He stressed that the country’s economy is still fragile, and the opportunity to secure another loan program from the IMF should not be missed. A third tranche of $1 billion is expected to be initiated soon under the existing program.
