Taylor Swift became visibly emotional onstage at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on Saturday, marking the sixth and final show in the city for her ongoing Eras Tour. The 34-year-old singer fought back tears as the sold-out crowd gave her a heartfelt, minute-long standing ovation during her performance of “Champagne Problems.”
A TikTok video captured the emotional moment as Swift paused to express her gratitude, saying, “Toronto, we’re at the very end of this tour so you doing that, you have no idea how much it means to me and to my …” before getting choked up and turning away to regain composure.
After wiping away tears, she continued, “To my band, to my crew and everybody who’s put so much of this into this tour … I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore.” She then added with a laugh, “That was, uh, I’m just having a bit of a moment. Sorry.”
Swift took a moment to express her deep appreciation for her team, stating, “My band, my crew, all of my fellow performers, we have put so much of our lives into this. And you’ve put so much of your lives into being with us tonight and to giving us that moment that we will never forget.” She concluded by saying, “We’ve loved our time in Toronto. It’s been so amazing. I love you guys. Thank you so much for that.”
Adding to the buzz at the concert, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, was spotted at the show and made a connection with Swift’s fans, exchanging friendship bracelets with them.
Swift’s Eras Tour, which began in March 2023, will conclude on December 8, with the final shows in Vancouver.
