Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a conversation with former U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a statement from the prime minister’s office on Sunday.
During the call, Netanyahu reiterated his public stance: while Israel considers the concerns raised by the U.S. administration, its ultimate decisions will be guided by national interests.
Trump later spoke to reporters in Philadelphia, describing the call as “very nice.” He shared that Netanyahu sought his opinion on how to address the situation with Iran, particularly in light of recent Iranian missile strikes.
“He was asking what I thought. And I just said, you do what you have to do,” Trump remarked, emphasizing the importance of Israel’s autonomy in responding to threats.
