Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif addressed a banquet held in honor of senators from government allied parties on Thursday, highlighting the collaborative efforts of all political parties and institutions towards national development.
During his speech, the Prime Minister commended the government and coalition parties for prioritizing economic stability over individual political interests. He noted, “You have all sacrificed your politics and worked hard; the results are economic stability and diplomatic successes.”
Emphasizing the collective sacrifices made by political parties and the public, he stated that these efforts have helped the country navigate through challenging times. The Prime Minister also pointed out the consistent increase in foreign remittances over the past several months, reflecting the confidence of overseas Pakistanis in the current government.
PM Sharif celebrated the successful hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of Government meeting as a significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan. “Pakistan’s diplomatic profile has further strengthened internationally after successfully hosting this summit,” he remarked. He extended his congratulations to political leaders on the successful conclusion of the SCO summit and acknowledged the collaborative spirit among relevant institutions.
He also mentioned the positive impact of the recent visit from the Chinese Premier and highlighted the crucial role played by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in ensuring the success of the event.
Expressing confidence in the country’s economic recovery, the Prime Minister asserted that the government would respond to its political adversaries through tangible development and prosperity. He noted that the government’s prudent policies had stabilized the economy, allowing it to achieve 2025 targets ahead of schedule in 2024. Additionally, he remarked on the quick decline in the inflation rate within a short period.
The banquet was attended by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and senators from allied government parties.
