Another political huddle unfolded late Thursday night, this time at the residence of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad, as reported by Dunya News. The focus remained on the constitutional amendment package, with key participants including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar. However, the outcome mirrored that of the previous night’s meeting in Jati Umra—no progress was made on a unified draft.
While Bilawal flashed a victory sign to reporters outside Maulana’s residence, sources revealed that the high-profile meeting failed to resolve the deadlock surrounding the constitutional amendment package. JUI-F maintained its stance, urging allied members to endorse its proposed draft. During the discussions, Maulana emphasized the need for the government delegation to refrain from pressuring his MNAs and to foster an atmosphere of trust.
