As many as 110 new dengue cases have been reported across several cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, and others. Rawalpindi alone accounted for 92 cases, while smaller numbers were recorded in Attock, Lahore, Jhelum, Jhang, and Sheikhupura.
Last week, the province reported 671 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 1,843 this year. A health department spokesperson assured the public that hospitals are well-prepared, with ample medical supplies to treat infections.
The Punjab health department has urged citizens to cooperate with health teams working to control the spread and emphasized the importance of eradicating dengue larvae. A free helpline (1033) has been set up for those seeking treatment.
