Punjab health minister emphasizes quality and transparency in hospital revamping projects.

Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining quality and transparency in ongoing hospital revamping projects. His remarks came during a meeting at the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education on Thursday.

Minister Rafique announced that contractors have been directed to expedite the revamping efforts at Nishtar Hospital Multan, Children’s Hospital Multan, and the Multan Institute of Cardiology by increasing work hours to two shifts. He highlighted that key areas, including the Emergency and OPD sections of Nishtar Hospital, as well as emergency and indoor wards of the Children’s Hospital and various departments of the Multan Institute of Cardiology, are undergoing significant improvements.

“We are making every effort to prioritize the completion of these revamping projects in government hospitals,” Rafique stated. He also instructed the relevant officers to continuously monitor the progress of these projects to ensure they meet the required standards.

The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Development Wajid Ali, Chief Planning Officer Abdul Haq Bhatti, officials from the three hospitals in Multan, XEN, contractors, and other concerned officers.
