Peshawar high court orders appearance of KP chief minister in missing persons case.

The Peshawar High Court has summoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur regarding a case involving missing persons. During a recent court session, KP Advocate General informed Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim that the law department is handling the matter, while the Chief Minister is occupied with meetings.

The petitioner’s lawyer presented CCTV evidence showing that the petitioner was arrested immediately after being released on bail, raising concerns about the legality of the re-arrest.

In response, Chief Justice Ibrahim emphasized the urgency of the case, which has faced significant delays, and ordered the Chief Minister to appear in court. He instructed the Advocate General to arrange for the CM’s presence either today or Friday, based on his schedule.

The Chief Justice asserted that it is unacceptable for a citizen to be re-arrested outside jail premises after bail has been granted. He reaffirmed the court’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ordered the KP Chief Minister to attend the hearing today.
