Stallions triumph over dolphins with dominant 174-run victory in champions one-day cup.

A stellar bowling display propelled the Stallions to a commanding 174-run victory over the Dolphins in the seventh match of the Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 272 runs, the Dolphins were all out for just 90 runs in 25 overs. Jahandad Khan and Mehran Mumtaz each took three wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Haris Rauf contributed with two wickets apiece, dismantling the Dolphins’ batting order. Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer for the Dolphins with 32 runs, while Asif Ali added 21, but the rest of the lineup struggled against the potent bowling attack.

Earlier, Stallions’ captain Babar Azam delivered an outstanding performance, scoring an unbeaten 104 runs off 100 balls, leading his team to set a challenging target. The Stallions started strong with Shan Masood (34) and Yasir Khan (46) forming a solid partnership of 76 runs. After their dismissals, Babar and Tayyab Tahir added 57 runs before Tahir was dismissed by Qasim Akram. Hussain Talat contributed with a quick 23 runs.

In the previous match, the Markhors secured a 92-run victory over the Dolphins, driven by a century from Kamran Ghulam, all-round brilliance from Salman Ali Agha, and a vital half-century from skipper Mohammad Rizwan. The Markhors remain unbeaten, sitting atop the points table with three wins out of three, while the Dolphins have yet to secure a win, finding themselves at the bottom of the standings.
