Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari on Saturday refuted claims that roads were blocked with containers ahead of the PTI rally, stating, “No road is blocked and no road will be blocked.”
During a press conference, Bokhari emphasized that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands. She clarified that the PTI was permitted to hold a public gathering, but only within constitutional limits.
She accused PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur of bringing weapons and disruptive individuals to the rally, demanding he apologize for his behavior during a previous gathering in Islamabad.
Bokhari assured that the Punjab Safe Cities Authority would monitor the law and order situation using advanced technology, and the PTI would be facilitated as needed.
She also criticized the KP government for misusing public resources by deploying Rescue 1122 personnel, stating that the province was already in debt, with weak health and education infrastructure and a fragile law and order situation.
Labeling PTI as a “group of terrorists,” Bokhari claimed that they were responsible for the events of May 9 and had misled the nation. She further alleged that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur could not visit his constituency without paying extortion to the Taliban.
