With President Joe Biden away, Martin Sheen, along with the cast of “The West Wing,” took center stage at the White House Rose Garden on Friday. Hosted by First Lady Jill Biden, the event marked the 25th anniversary of the iconic political drama.
Sheen, known for his portrayal of President Jed Bartlet on the show, passionately urged attendees to fight for causes that are personal and deeply meaningful. “Find something that unites the spirit with the work of the flesh,” Sheen encouraged, channeling his famous character’s fiery cadence.
He continued, “When we find that, we will discover fire for the second time, helping lift this nation to a place where hearts are fearless and heads are held high.”
“The West Wing” remains popular among political figures across the spectrum, with both liberal and conservative Washington insiders in attendance, including House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul and former congressman Joe Walsh, a vocal supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris.
