Fast bowler Ghulam Mudassar has been called up to replace Sameen Gul in the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming red-ball series against Bangladesh ‘A’.
Sameen Gul is being withdrawn from the squad as a precautionary measure and will report to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore for post-rehabilitation workload management.
The Pakistan Shaheens will face Bangladesh ‘A’ in the first four-day match at Islamabad Club from August 13-16. The second four-day match is scheduled for August 20-23 at the same venue. The two teams recently completed a two-match series in Darwin, Australia, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Both teams have included players who will participate in the ICC World Test Championship fixtures, set to be held in Rawalpindi and Karachi from August 21-25 and August 30-September 3, respectively. This is due to the fact that Pakistan and Bangladesh have not played a Test match since January and March, respectively.
Pakistan’s last Test was against Australia in Sydney, while Bangladesh’s most recent Test appearance was against Sri Lanka at home in March.
