Hafiz Farhat Abbas, the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Punjab Assembly, has stepped down from his role.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Abbas explained that his bail in the cases related to the events of May 9 had been denied. Given the circumstances, he felt he could not adequately fulfill his duties as parliamentary leader.
Abbas has formally submitted his resignation to PTI and requested that party founder Imran Khan accept his decision. Despite stepping down from his leadership position, Abbas confirmed his commitment to remain a supportive member of the Punjab Assembly and continue his work as a party member.
