Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that August 12 will be celebrated as World Youth Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. This decision comes in recognition of Pakistan’s javelin star, Arshad Nadeem, who achieved a historic victory by winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Rana Mashhood, head of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, has been assigned the task of overseeing the arrangements for the ceremony. In addition to celebrating this remarkable achievement, the government will also unveil the National Youth Policy as part of the event.
Arshad Nadeem, who has become a national hero with his record-breaking javelin throw of 92.97 meters, is expected to attend the ceremony. The event will also feature job hunting stalls from local and foreign investors.
This landmark achievement marks the first time a Pakistani has won an individual Olympic gold medal, cementing Nadeem’s place in history.
