In a recent statement to a journalist, renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar claimed that an explicit video allegedly involving him was fabricated by his kidnappers to blackmail him. According to Qamar, he was forced at gunpoint to engage in sexual acts with a woman featured in the video. He asserted that the situation was staged with the complicity of the woman, who was allegedly a key player in producing the video.
Details of the Incident
On Sunday, the Lahore police registered a case following Qamar’s complaint of kidnapping and torture. The celebrated writer, known for his hit dramas and controversial views, reported that a woman named Amina lured him to her home under the pretense of discussing a drama project. Upon arrival, he was abducted by armed men.
Qamar revealed that he was subjected to severe torture and was moved between various locations. The kidnappers demanded a substantial ransom for his release and threatened to kill him if he did not comply. During the ordeal, they confiscated Rs60,000, an iPhone 11, an ATM card, and his national identity card. Additionally, over Rs200,000 were withdrawn from his bank account.
The FIR details that the kidnappers initially sought Rs10 million as ransom, a sum Qamar claimed he could not afford. The case is currently under investigation by the Sundar police.
