West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin is set to return to international cricket two years after her retirement from the national team, as announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI). The 33-year-old, who ranks as the second-highest run scorer for West Indies in women’s limited-overs cricket behind Stafanie Taylor, has rejoined the team ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled for October in Bangladesh.
Dottin had initially retired in July 2022 following a distinguished 14-year career in international cricket, though she continued to participate in franchise leagues. Her decision to rejoin the West Indies team came after discussions with CWI, including conversations with the governing body’s president, Kishore Shallow.
In a letter shared by CWI, Dottin expressed her enthusiasm for her return: “I am eager to return to the game that I love and contribute my utmost to the West Indies women’s team across all formats, with immediate effect.”
