On Sunday, Sri Lanka secured a commanding 8-wicket victory over India to win the Women’s Asia Cup final. The match, held in Dambulla, saw India set a target of 166 runs by scoring 165 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs.
Sri Lanka chased down the target in just 18.4 overs, losing only two wickets. Harshitha Samarawickrama played a crucial role, remaining unbeaten with 69 runs, while Kavisha Dilhari contributed 30 not out. Captain Chamari Athapaththu also delivered a standout performance with 63 runs.
For India, Deepti Sharma took one wicket, and notable batting performances included Smriti Mandhana with 60 runs, Richa Ghosh with 30, and Jemimah Rodrigues with 29.
Sri Lanka had reached the final after defeating Pakistan’s women’s team in the semi-final.
