NDMA Issues Flood Alert
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a flood alert, warning that the ongoing monsoon spell could trigger flash floods and urban flooding in various regions. They cautioned that even six inches of moving water can be dangerous, potentially knocking individuals off their feet, and one foot of water can sweep away vehicles. Bridges may become hazardous during floods, and it is advisable to avoid crossing them if water is flowing rapidly. The NDMA urged people to avoid weak structures and seek shelter in safe places during intense rain.
The NDMA has also launched the “Pak NDMA Disaster Alert” application, available on Google Play Store and iOS, to provide timely alerts and safety information.
