Amidst growing confidence in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, a prominent Chinese company has signaled its eagerness to bolster its investment in Pakistan. A delegation from MCC Tongsin Resources, headed by Chairman Wang Jaichen, met with PM Shehbaz on Friday to discuss potential avenues for collaboration.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended an invitation to the Chinese company to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s mining sector and to participate in the manufacturing of export goods. He assured the delegation of his government’s full support, offering facilitation ranging from minerals exploration and processing to the export of goods.
PM Shehbaz directed federal ministers and officials to engage in ongoing consultations with MCC Tongsin Resources, ensuring that stakeholders from Balochistan, including the chief minister and provincial departments, are included in the process.
The Chinese delegation expressed confidence in PM Shehbaz’s leadership and demonstrated a keen interest in expanding their investment in Pakistan’s mining and minerals sectors. They briefed the Prime Minister on their plans for constructing a mineral park in Pakistan and outlined their future investment strategies.
In response, PM Shehbaz emphasized his government’s commitment to promoting foreign investment in Pakistan, highlighting the priority steps taken to facilitate such endeavors. He also expressed gratitude to China for its longstanding support to Pakistan, especially during challenging times.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Dr. Musaddik Malik, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Jam Kamal Khan, along with relevant senior officials.
