Law ministry withdraws notification regarding shaukat aziz siddiqui’s removal.

The Law Ministry has taken a significant step following the Supreme Court’s ruling of March 22 by withdrawing its notification from October 11, 2018, pertaining to the removal of Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, a former judge of the Islamabad High Court.

In a notification released on Tuesday, the ministry announced that the president had decided to retire Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui upon reaching the age of superannuation, effective from June 30, 2021.

This decision comes in the wake of the Supreme Court’s judgment on constitutional petitions filed by Shaukat Siddiqui, which concluded on January 23 under the leadership of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa.

In its verdict delivered on March 22, the court invalidated the ruling of the Supreme Judicial Council that led to the removal of the judge.

This development marks a significant turn in the legal proceedings surrounding Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s tenure and underscores the judiciary’s commitment to upholding constitutional principles and ensuring justice.
