Aston villa extends manager unai emery’s contract until 2027.

Aston Villa announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement to extend manager Unai Emery’s contract, securing his tenure at the club until 2027.

Since joining Villa in October 2022, the Spaniard has played a pivotal role in the team’s resurgence, guiding them to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, marking their best performance since 2009-10. This season, Villa has set their sights on securing a top-four finish, a feat they haven’t achieved since 1995-96. Additionally, they have progressed to the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League, marking their first major European semi-final appearance in 42 years.

In a statement, Emery emphasized the importance of maintaining the team’s hard-working spirit, making astute decisions, and fostering strong coordination with the ownership. He reiterated the project’s ambition, emphasizing that it must remain the driving force behind the club’s endeavors.

Currently, Villa sits fourth in the Premier League standings with 66 points from 34 matches. Their impressive position puts them six points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, although Spurs have two games in hand.

As Villa prepares to face Chelsea on Saturday, the contract extension signals the club’s confidence in Emery’s leadership and their commitment to building on their recent successes under his guidance.
