Late on Thursday night, Swat and its neighboring areas in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province experienced a 4.9 magnitude earthquake, as reported by Dunya News.
The tremor prompted residents to rush out of their homes in panic, with many turning to reciting verses from the Holy Quran for solace. Fortunately, no casualties or damages to property were reported from any part of Swat as a result of the earthquake.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad confirmed that the epicenter of the earthquake was situated in the border region of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan, with a depth of 71 kilometers.
Earlier in the day, several cities across Pakistan, including Islamabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, and Swat district, experienced another earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale. Additionally, tremors were felt in Muzaffarabad, Lower Dir, and Malakand.
