Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Vows No Amnesty for Terrorist Organizations

During a high-level meeting at the National Headquarters, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance against terrorism, declaring that no amnesty would be granted to any terrorist organization. The meeting, presided over by Naqvi, saw crucial decisions being made to combat terrorism, including plans for frontline engagement against nefarious elements and the convening of a National Action Plan coordination committee next week.

Naqvi also called for a comprehensive review of provincial Counter Terrorism Departments (CTDs) to assess their preparedness and operational effectiveness. He instructed for detailed reports on the capacity and readiness of all provincial CTDs to be submitted promptly.

Furthermore, Naqvi emphasized the promotion of national narratives against extremist ideologies, advocating for concerted efforts to counter radicalization and extremism. He underscored the importance of promoting a message of tolerance, peace, and coexistence to counter the extremist narrative propagated by terrorist organizations.

The Interior Minister issued directives for the formulation of a comprehensive national counter-terrorism strategy, encompassing both preventive and reactive measures. He emphasized the need for a holistic approach to address the root causes of terrorism and promote social cohesion and inclusivity.
